434 Elementary Students Follow OSN in IPA and Mathematics

PADANG PANJANG, KOMINFO - As many as 434 primary school students (elementary school) in Padang Panjang City participated in the National Science Olympiad (OSN) event held by the Ministry of Education, Culture Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek).
OSN is held simultaneously throughout Indonesia and opened two competitions namely Natural Science (IPA) and Mathematics that lasted for two days, 8-9 May.
Especially in Padang Panjang City, OSN is implemented in two schools. For the District of Padang Panjang Timur (PPT) implemented at Guguk Elementary School Complex Malintang. In the District of Padang Panjang Barat (PPB) implemented in Balai-Balai Elementary School Complex.

Pd.T delivered to Kominfo, Tuesday (9/5), since the opening of OSN registration by Kemendikbud Ristek the party directly selected the school level directly implemented by the school. Each school sends a maximum of five of its representatives by registering directly to the application provided by Kemendikbud Ristek.
"OSN is conducted online through the National Achievement Center Application (Puspresnas) and is attended by 434 of our students. In detail, 216 students took the IPA course, and 218 took the Math course,” he said.
Noval said, the target wanted to be achieved, five delegates from IPA and five Mathematics can join OSN level West Sumatra Province.
"We hope that our 10 students can qualify to enter OSN to the next level even to the national level," he hopes.
Adding Noval, OSN is implemented to know the development of creativity of educators and educators, in the mastery of science and technology. Also as a means to grow the spirit of competitive and achievement tradition both at the national and international level. It is also the barometer of the quality of national education development.
